"What does it mean to make a promise? In an age where the ‘promise of the future’ has become something of a cliche, what is meant by The Future of a Promise?"
Lina Lazaar, Curator
The Future of a Promise was the Venice Biennale’s first pan-Arab exhibition of contemporary art. This landmark exhibition was accompanied by a pocket-size exhibition guide as well as a fully illustrated catalogue in English, produced by Ibraaz Publishing, and edited by Anthony Downey and Lina Lazaar. The exhibition guide includes the curatorial statement as well as a short quote from all participating artists.
