Artists Ginane Makki Bacho, Issam Kourbaj and Mohamad Hafez discussed the special exhibition Syria Then And Now where their works are on view alongside medieval ceramics from the Brooklyn Museum's collection.

These three artists of Syrian and Lebanese descent — based in Beirut; Cambridge, UK; and New Haven respectively — explored both the violence and displacement of the refugee crisis and the resilience of the diasporic communities.

The talk was followed by a Q&A with Curator Ayşin Yoltar-Yıldırı.
