In accordance with our vision of realizing sustainable growth of the art community in Saudi Arabia and the wider Arab region, we aim to support the long-term development of local artists and curators through a number of institutional partnerships.

The first of these institutional partnerships has been in the form of a collaborative residency programme with Dar Al-Ma’mûn Foundation in Morocco.

An international center for artistic residencies, Dar al-Ma’mûn emerged as a cultural platform aimed at providing support to artists and at promoting Moroccan and African cultural identity beyond borders. In line with this spirit of cultural exchange, Edge of Arabia and Dar Al-Ma’mûn have created a collaborative residency programme for Saudi and Arab artists. Dar Al-Mamûn offers participating access to its expanding 4000 sq meter art center which, upon completion, will include a research center in literary translation (Arabic-English-French) and a library open to all, specializing in social sciences, literature, poetry, aesthetics and art history, in addition to artists studios. Throughout the year, Dar Al-Ma’mûn will offer lectures on social themes and cultural events on contemporary creativity.

In 2013, Edge of Arabia is looking towards growing the number partnerships with leading cultural institutions to deliver collaborative and unique residency programs to the artists and curators.
