Mounir Fatmi was born in 1970 in Tangier, Morocco and now lives and works in Paris, France. Fatmi’s multimedia practice, encompassing video, installation, drawing, painting and sculpture, has been exhibited at major international institutions including the Museum Kunst Palast, Düsseldorf, Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, and Tate Modern, London. He has participated in several biennials including Venice, Seville and Sharjah. In 2010 he was awarded the Cairo Biennial Prize.
